Studs and Spikes

finished purse, sorry a little bit blurry

elastic studded bracelet cut apart
plain black bag
Hi, again, I just wanted to make a quick post of what I have been doing lately.  I have been working on bridesmaids dresses for my niece. She's getting married in April.  I am so happy for her.  Okay, so on to the goodies.  Lately , I have been seeing spiked and studded purses everywhere.  I wanted one so badly, but I refused to pay the over $300 price tag, so I made my own.  I found  a great black purse at my favorite flea market for $15, a spiked bracelet, studs, and some goop glue.  First I cut the bracelet apart to separate the pieces, arranged them on my purse and began to glue away.  Two hours later my purse was finished. I hope you like it, I know I do.  Bye till next time.

Outcomes

Hi fans, lets talk about Vafashionweek.  It was great, and the talent was there.  I participated as a vendor this year, custom sewing and fashion design.  The outcome was great.  I met a lot of amazing people.  The show on Saturday night started a few minutes late, but overall it was great.  There was even a vendor who provides hulas lessons for parties.  There were so many people selling jewelry, that I think next year I will design a line of handcrafted jewelry myself.  Here are just a few pictures of my booth.  If interested in purchasing any of the items email me, Teresa at vmokoena@cox.net.  Thanks for looking. By the way, has anyone heard of Sten Martin, or Sten Martin Jonssen?  He is on facebook, you tube, vimeo and twitter.  I found him a few days ago; he is an amazing designer.  You have to see how he drapes on the dress form.  Wow! what talent.

What I've been up to

What I've been up to

Hi everyone.  I have been a busy little bee for the last week or so.  Mercedes Benz fashion week was marvelous.  I thoroughly enjoyed the fashion shows.  The designers were amazing.  One day, my name will be out there too. In the meantime, I work, I eat, I pray, I praise, and I sweat.  After saying all that here are a few pictures from a fashion show I participated in 2010.  I hope you like my designs. Thanks.

Hi peeps, I just wanted to make a sound off.  Is anyone excited about Fashion Week besides me.  The shows started this morning, and I have been glued to the computer watching the live shows.  I've seen three so far,  the next one starts at 1p.m. eastern.  Hope to see you soon.  Later.

Before and After

Here I am again.  I decided to post some before and after photos of two gowns from a previous fashion show at Va Fashion Week in Norfolk.  One is a yellow silk petal gown, and the other is a blue silk organza gown with a beaded neckline.  All of the beading is done by hand, and all of the petals on the yellow gown are individual.  There are approximately 500 petals, give or take a few , on this gown.  Both gowns are hand dyed using fiber reactive dyes from Dharma trading co. Enjoy the photos.

First Post

Hi, everyone, here is my very first post ever.  Today I have been working on a flag for a friend of mine.  I have also been doing alterations today.  I would also like to introduce you to my husband Victor.  He is wearing a costume I created for a program at church.  It was King and Queen's Day.  Hope you like it.  See you soon.
